Source Memory 1.0.1 support
Help with Source Memory
Email ChromeExtensionSupport@purelymail.com. Include the Chrome version, Source Memory version, expected behavior, and actual result. Do not email exported browsing data unless necessary and reviewed.
Open Source Memory, complete the disclosure, and enable recording. The toolbar badge shows an alert before setup and OFF when paused.
Use the toolbar, keyboard shortcut, or page context menu. The action creates a native Chrome bookmark and a linked local Source Record.
Chrome does not expose an extension API for changing the operating-system window title. Source Memory stores and displays a persistent internal window label.
Manual Agent Control is declared attribution. Use Take Control to record the handoff back to Human.
The full provenance ledger is local to this desktop Chrome profile. Native bookmarks may follow Chrome Sync if the user enables it.
Open Dashboard, then Settings. Export JSON before deletion when a backup may be needed. Linked Chrome bookmarks can be removed optionally.
Troubleshooting
Check the recording and exclusion boundary first.
A page is missing from the timeline
Confirm recording was enabled when navigation committed, the domain is not excluded, and the page is a normal web URL. Chrome internal pages, extension pages, DevTools, view-source pages, and Incognito are not recorded.
A previous page changed after navigation
Version 1.0.1 includes a regression guard that pins title and URL updates to the expected visit. Send the extension version and reproducible steps if this occurs.
Restore opened fewer pages than expected
Restore uses unique recordable URLs present in the saved branch, Trail, or archive. Closed internal pages and duplicate URLs are omitted.
Reset Source Memory
Open Dashboard, then Settings, then Delete all Source Memory data. Choose whether to remove linked native Chrome bookmarks. Export first if a reviewed backup may be needed.
Keyboard shortcuts
- Alt+Shift+S: Smart Save the current page.
- Alt+Shift+M: Pause or resume provenance recording.
- Alt+Shift+H: Return the current window to Human control.
Chrome may require shortcut changes when another extension or application already uses a combination. Manage extension shortcuts at chrome://extensions/shortcuts.
