Build a Poppy board that does not become a junk drawer.

A six-zone operating blueprint for source-led research, content, and reusable context—plus the brief that tells the board when it is finished.

The board architecture

Give every source a status.

The zones are intentionally simple. Their job is to preserve provenance and make disagreement visible—not to decorate the canvas.

01

Source inbox

Capture first, but keep every item tied to its original URL or origin. This is intake—not evidence approval.

02

Primary evidence

Move only material that supports or materially changes the board’s decision. Attach the claim it supports.

03

Contradictions + limits

Keep conflicting evidence, poor-fit cases, unknowns, and date-sensitive behavior visible instead of editing them out.

04

Working conclusions

Separate direct observation, sourced fact, and inference. Conclusions stay provisional until the evidence review closes.

05

Approved claims

Freeze the statements that downstream scripts, newsletters, videos, and pages are allowed to use.

06

Outputs

Build deliverables from the approved claim set so derivative content cannot quietly rewrite the conclusion.

POPPY BOARD OPERATING BRIEF

BOARD OUTCOME
What decision or deliverable should this board make possible?

AUDIENCE
Who will use the output, and what do they already understand?

DEFINITION OF DONE
What observable artifact or decision closes this board?

EXCLUSIONS
What attractive but unsupported claims will this board not make?

01 — SOURCE INBOX
Unprocessed material. Every item keeps its original URL or origin.

02 — PRIMARY EVIDENCE
Sources and direct observations that materially support the decision.

03 — CONTRADICTIONS + LIMITS
Conflicting evidence, poor-fit cases, open questions, and date-sensitive behavior.

04 — WORKING CONCLUSIONS
Interpretations under review. Label each as observation, sourced fact, or inference.

05 — APPROVED CLAIMS
Statements cleared for the final deliverable, with provenance and important qualifications.

06 — OUTPUTS
Scripts, briefs, tutorials, newsletters, or handoff packages built from the approved claims.

REVIEW GATE
Can a new operator state the question, find the evidence, see unresolved risks, and identify the approved output without a private tour?

Before collecting

Write the operating brief.

State the board outcome, audience, definition of done, and excluded claims. If a new source does not support, limit, or change that outcome, it does not belong in this board.

Before publishing

Run the handoff test.

A capable person should be able to identify the question, distinguish evidence from interpretation, see open risks, and locate approved claims without a private explanation.
