Editorial and project methodology

The conclusion should never outrun the evidence.

The standard is simple: make the author and relationship visible, label the experience and maturity honestly, settle a real decision, expose poor-fit cases, and keep every claim correctable.

01 · Who, how, and why

Readers should know who produced the work and how it was made.

Top AI Tools For is founded and edited by Tom. AI may assist organization, drafting, code, comparisons, and tests. The founder remains responsible for the source boundary, experience label, ownership and commercial disclosures, factual review, conclusion, correction path, and publication decision.

02 · Experience

We label what kind of contact we have had with a tool.

A review based on building a product is different from a bounded test, owned device, planned integration, or researched comparison target. The label appears near the conclusion so authority is not inferred from confident tone.

03 · Ownership

An owned product is evidence—not an independent review.

Founder project pages state ownership, maturity, what works, known limitations, current evidence, blocker, and next gate. Product sites remain authoritative for customers, support, privacy, terms, security reporting, billing, and release status.

04 · Decision

Every page must help someone choose, build, verify, or avoid something.

We begin with the reader’s job and observable outcome. Feature coverage is included only when it changes the decision, operating model, evidence requirement, or failure risk.

05 · Trade-offs

A recommendation without a poor-fit case is incomplete.

Every substantive review names the maintenance burden, likely failure mode, and conditions under which the reader should skip the tool. Every project record names what does not work and what must happen before the stage changes.

06 · Build logs

Build-in-public records preserve change without rewriting history.

A build log states what changed, what evidence exists, what was learned, how the control boundary moved, the current limitation, and the next decision. Private implementation, customer data, credentials, and sensitive configurations remain outside the public record.

07 · Money

Commercial relationships are disclosed in context.

An affiliate, sponsor, gifted-access, partnership, or owned-product relationship never purchases rank, score, or positive coverage. A buying link is labeled and paired with the full editorial conclusion and disclosure.

08 · Corrections

Useful work remains correctable.

Interfaces, prices, plans, integrations, project stages, and product behavior change. We avoid unsupported precision, date conclusions when relevant, and accept correction requests at support@topaitoolsfor.com.
