Ownership disclosure

Left Out Scan is an owned product from Top AI Tools For. This is a product record, not an independent review.

The project decision

Keeping a document on your own phone should not require an account or an online scanning service.

Who it is for: Android users who want to keep and read document scans in a private vault on one device, without exporting or sharing PDFs.

What works

Verified or explicitly documented behavior.

  • Capture up to 10 pages, detect page corners, adjust the crop manually, and apply perspective correction on the device.
  • Review, rotate, and revise a page before saving the PDF encrypted in private app storage.
  • Authenticate with the device to read saved scans in the app or delete them.
  • No internet permission, third-party runtime SDKs, ads, analytics, telemetry, or automatic crash reporting.

Known limitations

What this project is not allowed to claim yet.

  • No PDF export, sharing, printing, import, cloud backup, migration, or recovery service.
  • No OCR, searchable text, curved-book flattening, or automatic redaction. Detection can miss page edges; the user reviews the outline.
  • Deleting a scan, uninstalling, clearing app data, losing the device, or losing access to the device-bound key can permanently remove access.
  • Google Play closed Alpha is published, but purchase, Store installation, feedback, and Play-distributed execution are not yet verified. Android 16 emulator validation remains incomplete.

Current evidence

The public claim must stay inside this boundary.

  1. 01Google Play submissions 1 and 2 are published in the closed Alpha for com.topaitoolsfor.localscan.
  2. 02One approved tester opted in and reached the paid listing; no purchase, installation, or Play-distributed execution is claimed.
  3. 03Version 1.1.0 passed 21 JVM unit tests and release lint; the 1.1.1 change is metadata-only.
  4. 04Android 11 emulator checks exercised alignment, perspective processing, encrypted save, viewing, deletion, and an update preserving an existing vault.
  5. 05The owner reported that version 1.1.0 passed on a physical device; device model and Android version were not recorded.
  6. 06Product screenshots are actual Android app screens with synthetic test documents. They do not contain customer documents.
Current blockerClosed testing still needs a qualifying group of genuine testers, a continuous test interval, and real feedback before the production-access application.
Next gateRecruit and support genuine closed-test participants, track opt-in continuity and feedback, then apply for production access when the Play gate is satisfied.
