Download Organizer privacy policy

Scope

This policy covers the Download Organizer Chrome extension. The extension processes information locally so it can organize downloads and preserve where a file came from. Top AI Tools For does not operate a server that receives the download ledger, saved snippets, browsing records, tags, notes, or extension settings.

Information the extension handles

The extension handles only information needed to organize downloads, preserve source context, and save content when the user explicitly requests it.

• Download information. Original and final filenames, download URL, final URL, referrer URL, file type, file size, completion state, and timestamp. Used for the local ledger, source tracking, search, export, and optional rename templates.
• Page context. The URL and title of a page associated with a download, or of a page the user explicitly logs. Used so a saved record can be recognized and its source reopened.
• Selected text. Text the user deliberately saves as a snippet, plus that page's URL and title. The extension does not save arbitrary page content in the background.
• Organization data. Tags, notes, tag presets, rename templates, and other preferences the user creates.
• Operational preferences. Whether tracking is enabled or paused, onboarding status, and automatic-renaming settings.

The extension does not request a name, physical address, payment details, health information, passwords, authentication credentials, precise location, or government identification. Do not save sensitive text as a snippet unless storing it locally on the device is acceptable.

How information is used

Local information is used only to organize downloads and preserve their source context. That includes:

• Recording completed downloads in a searchable local ledger.
• Associating files, saved pages, and snippets with their source URLs and page titles.
• Applying a filename template the user configured before Chrome saves a download.
• Supporting local tags, notes, search, filters, and a CSV export.
• Showing a confirmation after an action the user requested.
• Remembering extension settings between browser sessions.

The information is not used for advertising, behavioral profiling, credit or lending decisions, or determining eligibility for employment, insurance, housing, or similar services.

Storage and network

Ledger records and settings are stored with chrome.storage.local on the device. The extension makes no network requests. Chrome itself fetches a file the user downloads; the extension does not contact Top AI Tools For or any other service with the ledger. Top AI Tools For does not receive or have access to the locally stored information.

A CSV export is created locally, and Chrome saves it as a file the user chooses. Exporting does not upload the ledger. The extension has no account, cloud sync, analytics SDK, advertising network, or external AI service.

Browser permissions

The extension requests browser permissions only for its stated features. Depending on the released version, those permissions let it organize downloads, save local records and settings, add context-menu actions the user invokes, temporarily read the active page, show confirmation notifications, and inject the packaged snippet-capture script after a user action.

Page access is used to read the current page URL, title, and text the user selected. It is not used to monitor browsing for advertising or analytics.

Sharing, selling, and remote code

Top AI Tools For does not sell, rent, license, or otherwise share extension data. The extension does not transmit the local ledger or settings to the publisher, advertisers, analytics providers, data brokers, or AI model providers.

The extension does not execute remotely hosted JavaScript or WebAssembly. Its executable code is included in the extension package.

Retention and controls

Local records remain on the device until the user deletes them in the extension, clears the extension's browser storage, resets the browser profile, or uninstalls the extension. An exported file stays wherever it was saved and has to be deleted separately.

The user can pause tracking, turn off optional automatic renaming, remove individual records where the extension supports it, clear stored extension data through Chrome, or uninstall the extension.

Security

The ledger stays local, and the extension does not use an account or an external data service. No local store is guaranteed to be completely secure. Anyone with access to the browser profile or an exported file may be able to read saved information. Protect the device and the browser profile.

Children

Download Organizer is a general productivity tool and is not directed to children under 13. Top AI Tools For does not knowingly collect children's personal information through the extension.

This website

Visiting this page creates an ordinary web request. The hosting provider may process request information needed to deliver and protect the site. That is separate from the extension, which does not send its ledger here. See the Top AI Tools For website privacy notice.

Changes

This page will be updated if the extension's data handling changes. The effective date above identifies the current version. A material change will appear here before or when the related extension update is released.
